Five questions with 04 Limited Sazabys

Hello Asia’s Johnny Au chats with Japanese band 04 Limited Sazabys who are performing at Singapore’s SPACE SHOWER RETSUDEN ASIA TOUR 2017.

Hi 04 Limited Sazabys! To my Australian audience who may not have heard of you before can you introduce yourself and your music? Can you tell me what 04 Limited Sazabys mean?

We’re 04 Limited Sazabys, formed in Nagoya in Japan.
Vocals, bass: GEN
Guitar: HIROKAZ
Guitar, back-up vocals: RYU-TA
Drums, back-up vocals: KOUHEI
We’re distinguished by our fast-paced songs and GEN’s high-toned voice.
As for the band’s name, GEN thought that it would be good to have a long band name and also wanted to include a number for some reason or another, which was how it was decided.

Talk to me about your latest album eureka which was released last year?

We put our all into the album and it showcases 04 Limited Sazabys at our fullest potential right now. From rock songs to ballads, there are many different genres in the album.

How does eureka differ from your first album CAVU?

We produced the album after our major debut and with the little time we had in between tours and promotions, but I think it’s a reflection of us growing and now working on a bigger scale than before. We also ended up extending our production period and worked on it for as long as we could to try to make something even better.

What’s your thoughts of performing at the SPACE SHOWER RETSUDEN ASIA TOUR 2017 in Singapore?

It’ll be the first time that we’re playing overseas, so we’re looking forward to how the audience will receive it. As usual, we’re taking this as a challenge and facing it head on.

What’s 04 Limited Sazabys plans for 2017? Any plans for a national or international tour? When are we going to see you in Australia?

We plan on focusing on live performances in 2017 and being really active as a band. We’d also love to go on an overseas tour one day, and visit Australia some day too.

04 Limited Sazabys is performing at the SPACE SHOWER RETSUDEN ASIA TOUR 2017 on Thursday 16th March at MILLIAN SINGAPORE. For more information see HERE.
