SHINee’s Key has announced that he will be joining the cast of upcoming drama Honsul Couple. The drama will follow the lives of people who are studying for the civil service exam and their cram school teachers.

Key’s character is an “official wanderer” who has been studying for the civil service examination for three years. He has a unique personality and has not experienced hardship in his life, but is currently living in a state of limbo with no income.

The dramas title “Honsul” is apparently a new word that is used to describe the act of drinking alone.

The role will be the first TV drama role for Key, who has previously acted in musicals like Bonnie and Clyde and Catch Me If You Can. Actress Hwang Woo Seul Hye has also been cast, with Park Ha Sun also rumoured to join. It will be directed by Choi Kyu Shik (Let’s Eat 2) and written by Myung Soo Hyun (Rude Miss Young Ae).

Honsul Couple is expected to air in August.
