The original heartbreaker, one of a kind, super star G-Dragon took to the Qudos Bank Arena stage tonight in Sydney on the first stop of his Australian tour! We’ll have a full review of the concert up soon, but in the meantime here’s five things that really stood out to us at Act III, M.O.T.T.E!

The concert is all structured as a passage of time- so we get young GD with Heartbreaker era, then the OOAK era, the maturing Coup d’Etat era and then the recent reveal of Kwon Ji Yong in the self titled album. Moving through these really see the progression of G-Dragon and Kwon Ji Yong, and how he separates himself into the two.

Just bringing it back a bit to what started it all- the first solo G-Dragon moments in the Heartbreaker era, really spoke to my longtime VIP heart. I’m not sure he would perform so many of his older songs in other recent concert tours so I really appreciated it in Act III, M.O.T.T.E!

  1. BULLSH*T!

I love this song off the new album so this was definitely my favourite track of the night! Was just as epic live- bow wow wow!

I was kinda sad there was no Coup d’Etat (as that’s my favourite overall GD track), but I coped.

This is a really high quality concert- the stage design is great and I really appreciated the super high definition of the GIANT screens (although the layout of the stage made it pretty easy to see the man at all times anyway). There were so many fireworks and fire spurts and streamers. So.many.streamers. I love streamers.

Kwon Ji Yong recorded a monologue talking about the struggle he feels in explaining who he is, and how he (Kwon Ji Yong) is different to G-Dragon. It was a really fascinating insight into the meaning behind Act III, M.O.T.T.E and the thought process of the man himself.

GD, thats he. Who you? Not he.

G-Dragon/Kwon Ji Yong is really one of a kind in whatever capacity he chooses to show himself- and Act III M.O.T.T.E in Sydney proved it!

G-Dragon is performing at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on August 8th and in Melbourne on Saturday 12th August at Hisense Arena. Tickets and VIP experiences are on sale now. To get your hands on tickets and more details, head to the Live Nation website.
