
It’s official! Popular manga and anime series “Fullmetal Alchemist” will have its own live-action version, to be released in Japan in 2017 and distributed by Warner Bros.
The protagonist, Edward Elric, will be played by Yamada Ryosuke from Hey! Say! JUMP. Although “Fullmetal Alchemist” is set in Europe, the movie’s cast is entirely Japanese. The full line-up will be as follows:-

Details have not yet been released regarding the character of Alphonse, Edward’s brother.
The film will be directed by Fumihiko Sori. Although live-action adaptations have not always been received positively in the past, Sori says that he wishes to stay as close to the original manga as possible so as not to disappoint fans. Filming will commence in June in Italy.
A highly popular and well-known manga serial that ran from 2001 to 2010, “Fullmetal Alchemist” is about alchemist brothers Edward and Alphonse on their quest to find a philosopher’s stone.
