Described by the late Marva Whitney as ‘one of the hottest funk bands on the planet’, the Japanese 9-piece funk orchestra Osaka Monourail has been wowing audiences with their dynamic shows for over 25 years.

Formed out of Osaka University’s Jazz Society in 1992 and having toured with funk heavyweights, and James Brown associates, Marva Whitney, Fred Wesley and Martha High, this band captures the authentic energy of funks hey day and beyond.

Having played some of the biggest festivals across the globe, including Aussie favourites, Meredith Music Festival, WOMADelaide and the Sydney Festival, they are returning to Australia for the third time later this year!

Expect sharp suits, twirling trumpets and a whole lot of charisma from front man and director, Ryo Nakata.
