Japanese rock/metal group Esprit D’Air have teamed up with Single Music to perform a livestream concert on the 25th of October, 7am AEST, replacing their live show that was originally planned at The Dome in London.
With COVID-19 still presenting a major risk, the replacement livestream will give the band an opportunity to broadcast their performance to the world. The event coincides with the band’s 10 year anniversary, which they have not been able to celebrate until now due to coronavirus restrictions.
“Like every other musician who cannot tour right now, we are taking the opportunity to connect with our supporters online—broadcasting in a safe environment to the world,” says solo project leader, Kai. “We originally planned the live concert in London, so doing the livestream will allow us to continue performing, but it will also allow fans from outside the UK to connect with us too, so I am really looking forward to it!”
In partnership with Single Music, Kai’s bandmates include Yusuke Okamoto on guitar, Kazuki Nishigaki on bass, and Andre Joyzi (Breed 77) on drums for this one-off show. Adding to the special event, the band will debut some new songs from their forthcoming album, Oceans due to be released in 2021.
Now based in London, Esprit D’Air has received critical praise in the past from HuffPost, Louder, BBC Radio, and Kerrang! Radio. Additionally, their debut album won best metal/hardcore album of 2018 at The Independent Music Awards at the Lincoln Centre, New York.
Their forthcoming livestream serves as a celebration of the band’s 10 year career. The virtual event goes live via the band’s website on October 25, 2020 at 7am AEST.
