Japan’s masked production team AmPm have released their latest single, ‘New York City’.

The new single is the second in a series of globe-trotting tracks from the duo, following the March 2021 release of ‘Tokyo’. In homage to the house music that influenced AmPm’s sound, ‘New York City’ is a danceable, melodic release with elements of tech and soulful house, reminiscent of New York music and culture.

“New York City was an important influence on the formation of AmPm, which is why we chose it as the second part of our series of dance tracks named after cities around the world. It’s a city we’ve visited many times, and our past experiences there continue to give us unending stimulation to this day,” AmPm tell us about their new single. “The track was intended to reflect our image of the city, which is diverse, powerful, and always looking to the future. It has been difficult to travel overseas for a while due to the pandemic, but I hope this track will transport you to New York City, if only in your mind.”

Up until now, AmPm have focused on global activity, and their releases have featured a variety of guest vocalists over dance-influenced tracks. Going forward, they plan to continue traveling the world beyond Tokyo and New York City with a series of singles titled for and inspired by their favourite cities.
