US burgers and shakes chain Shake Shack announces its first store in Seoul, South Korea will open next year. With a cult following in the US for its famous burgers and shakes, Shake Shack has teamed up with Korea’s SPC Group, a company that owns and operates 30 different food brands in Asia and the U.S., including Paris Baguette, a well-known chain with several locations in the U.S. The partners will open one Shack location in 2016 but have plans to open 25 total in South Korea by 2025.

With a Shake Shack already in operation in Tokyo and more to come, this is the next phase in the Asian expansion for the Shake Shack. As it has for every other opening, Shake Shack is committed to using sustainable building materials in its construction and offering the same menu of Shack burgers, dogs, and fries it serves at every other location. Additionally, Shake Shack Seoul will incorporate products from local purveyors, as it does in each new town.

The Seoul Shack menu will feature Shake Shack’s signature items including the ShackBurger®, SmokeShack® and Shack-cago Dog®. As it has done around the world, Shake Shack intends to work with local purveyors and producers to create a one-of-a-kind Shack for the Seoul community.
