The annual South By Southwest (SXSW) Music, Film and Interactive conference and showcase is coming up and Asia will again be out in force. SXSW 2017 will feature one of the largest contingent of music artists from Asia with 12 artists each from South Korea and Japan all vying to grab the attention of music fans and industry professionals alike. In addition to regulars Taiwan, countries such as Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia and Hong Kong will have artists performing in Austin.
South Korea will again be well represented in SXSW 2017 with K-Pop sweethearts Red Velvet and SISTAR member Hyolyn headlining the KPOP NIGHT OUT Showcase along with rock royalties No Brain and Galaxy Express, R&B and Hip Hop masters Drunken Tiger and Yoonmirae.
Japan will again have a strong presence at SXSW 2017 with rock god Miyavi making his SXSW debut. The annual Japan Nite showcase will again feature its best up and coming artists.
Taiwan this year will be represented by 6 artists and Singapore will have Linying as its artist to watch. Linying performed at this year’s Laneway Festival to rave reviews.
