Adele calls her new album 25 a “make-up record” in lengthy Twitter post; apologises for delays

Following the incredible success of her sophomore record 21, UK pop star Adele became an artist heard but not seen.

Though her music was unavoidable for years, the artist stopped touring and – as far as we know – stopped working on new music. And though it did little to stall her popularity, becoming one of the biggest selling artists of all time in the same period, fans have been left wondering when and if we’d hear new music from the singer. You can bet her record label was wondering the same thing.

Well, this week we finally received  confirmation from the artist herself that there is indeed a new album on the way, and it would be called 25. And now today, by way of a letter posted on social media by Adele (which you can view below), we know a little more about the release.

In the letter, Adele apologises for the time it took to make the new record, acknowledging “you know, life happened”. And fair enough, too. She gives some hints as to the themes of the record in the post, calling it a “make-up record” while reflecting on her life and recent experiences.

25 is expected to be released next month, though no official release date has been announced.
